A Champion from Bălan
Asociația Paideia Bălan proudly supports a young kickboxing athlete from Bălan who has risen through discipline and dedication to become Romanian National Champion. His journey — from training in the mountains of Harghita to standing on the national podium — is proof that greatness begins where passion meets perseverance.
We believe in backing talent from our community — providing financial and logistical support so champions from Bălan can continue competing at the highest level, without geography or resources ever becoming a barrier to their ambitions.
Club Sportiv Câinii Zăpezii
Club Sportiv Câinii Zăpezii was founded in 2004 in Bălan, Harghita, built around a passion for Nordic sled dogs — including Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Greenland Dog and Samoyed. Accredited by the Romanian National Sports Agency and a proud member of FISTC — the International Federation of Sled Dog Sports — the club has carried Bălan's name to competition stages across Europe and beyond.
In 2011, the club achieved Romania's first ever international podium in sled dog racing — a historic milestone for Romanian sport. The 2024–2025 season brought further glory: 2 gold medals and 2 silver medals at World and European Championships. Constantin Grosu became European Champion in Hungary in 2024, and the club represented Romania at the FISTC World Championship in Germany in 2025. Asociația Paideia Bălan is proud to support this extraordinary club that puts Bălan on the world map.
